Default Perfect Weather!

While Heart of Gold gets a new shaft and prop next week, we're
sailing, sailing and doing more sailing....

Odd day since the weather was ideal, and yet very few boats out.

But we did run into a few friends....

Still, the LIS has been anything but crowded this season. It's almost
like the Iraq war, rotten president, gas prices and sad state of the
USA has taken the wind out of a lot of sails....

Just think how the wind would be taken out of your sails if Al-Queida
in Iraq is able to focus on planning another 9-11 in NYC.....

Thanks to W.... Al-Queida in Iraq is busy looking for rat holes to
hide in to stay alive.

Joe, do you listen to US and European news? Our phoney Iraq war has
stirred up a hornet's nest of terrorism. It's worse now than ever
before and more Americans die every day. We're far less safe now than
ever before.

Umm... Bin Ladin, Mullah Omar, and Zawahiri are living a comfortable life in
rural Pakistan thanks to Bush. They're the ones who planned 9/11, Madrid,
and London.

Somewhat unfortunate turn of phrase there, Rob.
The wind is still there for free and (what you consider to be) high gas
prices will probably have led to a reduction in the numbers of the pesky
power boaters out there so all sailing people ought to be out there enjoying
the relative peace.

I was refering to sailboats. High gas prices hurt sailing and just
about everything else. For many folks who sail smaller boats on tight
budgets the robbery at the pumps via Bush and friends was the last
straw. Local yards to us confirm this picture and I live in a high
income state.

The cost of living index for your area is 176.6. For Joe's area its 87.2.
You need to earn over twice as much as Joe just to eat as well as he does.

Most of that index relates to property values. Even in this market
houses in our area continue to rise, up 3% in Kent Cliffs. In NY
property is prices insanely, but I'm glad we own over 14 acres here.

Actually, no. Food, clothing, and taxes are the relatively expensive budget
items in your area relative to his.

The price differential for food is just a 8% range up or down. Taxes
are only high in some areas and geared to schools in our zone. But my
house is priced twice as high as those in PA and 3.5 times as high as
those in Texas.
