Default Running strong

Has a almost perfect sail yesterday.
The RedCloud squaws were beating the party/war drums a bit loud once
in a while. They had a bit to much fire water. Still all a hoot..and
fun.

Someone messed up and sunk a 30 footer just off Kemah. Cops, fire,
Parks & Wildlife, USCG, Sheriff's boat, Helo's all out in force.

Started out a bit slow but we had up a 100% fore 100% stay and the
main & mizzen, with the board down just 2 ft. In 8 kts of wind we were
making around 4.5 kts reaching upwind. Doing 6-7.5 running on a broad
reach as the winds picked slightly late evening. Saw a buddy on his
sloop and he took some film of us under full sails, hope to post it
soon.

Headed out to deep water near the ship channel and tossed over the
shrimp net..bunch of small flounder, 1 lb of shrimp and a dozen
oysters...hardly worth slowing down for.... but fun...and toss in a
Redfish...dinner tonight.

I was very pleased with the upwind ability with the extra head sail.
BTW the fore stays are both out on the pulpit/bowsprit. Doug was
closer than anyone on guess-ta-mating where the pad eye needed to be.

On a scale of 1-10 it was a good 7 night.

Adding the Ham Radio, backstay tuner, wiring in the solar panels,
shunts, diodes, and gauges this week.

Joe
