Meanwhile, the great pretender tries to tell us about his "club" consisting
of a full service marina that closed down its one "club" facility for lack
of purpose but still hands out "club" cards to wannabes.

So, BS, does your "club" have:

Weekly PHRF races for both canvas and spinnaker classes?

Hosting of races for other clubs in the area?

Junior sailing school to teach the kids how to sail?

Fleet of 3 different dinghy types for use of members whenever they wish?

Regular cruises and mini-cruises throughout the year?

Regular social events at no cost?

Members regularly participating in the Marion-Bermuda and other races?

No? I didn't think so. It has what any full service marina has, and that's
it. Oh, and it prints up those neat "club" cards and hands them out to
anyone who writes them a check for slip rental.

Probably do this so that the tennants can try to "bootleg" reciprocity
with real yacht clubs.

If you really must have a slip but with the advantages of a real club rather
than a phony one, there are some that could accommodate you. Check out Duck
Island Yacht Club, for example. They run a real nice sailing program for
kids too.
