Thanks A rule of thumb for four stroke engines from a old pilot friend friend of mine: 1/2 pound of fuel per horse power per hour. One gallon of "gas' weights 6 pounds. If you figure 100% power setting (6 hp) then 3 pounds of fuel which is 1/2 gallon an hour. He used this formula for a Piper Cub with lousy fuel guages. |
