While Heart of Gold gets a new shaft and prop next week, we're
sailing, sailing and doing more sailing.... Odd day since the weather was ideal, and yet very few boats out. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Gw0YqCp0Fgc But we did run into a few friends.... http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...it/Hunter2.jpg Still, the LIS has been anything but crowded this season. It's almost like the Iraq war, rotten president, gas prices and sad state of the USA has taken the wind out of a lot of sails.... RB 35s5 NY |

The wind is still there for free and (what you consider to be) high gas prices will probably have led to a reduction in the numbers of the pesky power boaters out there so all sailing people ought to be out there enjoying the relative peace. |

I was refering to sailboats. High gas prices hurt sailing and just about everything else. For many folks who sail smaller boats on tight budgets the robbery at the pumps via Bush and friends was the last straw. Local yards to us confirm this picture and I live in a high income state. RB 35s5 NY The cost of living index for your area is 176.6. For Joe's area its 87.2. You need to earn over twice as much as Joe just to eat as well as he does. |
