The small advance was 5K, so Katy was not far off. I won't list the
publisher here because there are nuts here (like Gayanzy) who'd not think wtice about contacting the publisher. The book is done, going through a second edit, but also awaiting additional photos. The publisher is pretty confident about it in spite of the small market for sailing books. And by the way, two publishers wanted it. I made the sale on two chapters and an outline along with my sample photos. I did not to it for the money, since books on sailing don't make much. RB 35s5 NY |

You can do 2 or three a day. Each one individually doesn't look like much, but you can easily end up reaching hundreds of thousands of people a day. Take the 5k and use it to really sell some books. If you can trick someone with name recognition, such as Walter Cronkite to write the forward, that would also be a huge plus. Work up a little "act" including a few props and funny anecdotes, and take it on the road for a couple of weeks. CWM And there's always vendor booths at boat shows... |
