Gilligan, Lloyd Bonifide, Babs Johnson and Bob Crantz.

Lloyd is a Korean War veteran, Babs is a blonde bombshell (both of these
characters are stolen from radio/cinema) and Bob Crantz is a religious
zealot but not homosexual. Gilligan, also a tv character stumbles through
life tripping over power cords, sticking his fingers in the wrong places,
getting shipwrecked multiple times, and has the lovely support of MaryAnn
who is always baking him a coconut cream pie.

The whole point is the corny, clumsy use of sock puppets in a self
slapsticking sort of way. There are rarely a few others just check the
headers, they are all the same. I am not Popeye, Maynard G. Krebs, or any
of the others. The most fun I have is with Bobsprit, he is the master
troller. He really understands character flaws and can work them like no
other. He's like a slimy, twisty eel - once you think you've got him he
just slips out of it. He'll throw up roadblocks, red herrings and use
every trick in the book, in fact he wrote the book. He never acknowledges
defeat. What a great troller he is but will never measure up to Capt.
Neal.

was a mail cutter, constantly dismasted and sunk. I watched Booby move up
with bigger and better boats until his smashers sent Capt Neal reeling. Then
Neal did a strange, even for him, thing. He began courting Booby. I
suffered through their short love affair and breakup. Batman could not get
Robin to play. Booby had rendered Capt Neal, "a hors de combat." A sad
passing. indeed.

It's funny how different people see things in a different light...I
don't see either of those two as having "owned" anything at asa except
for a lot of hot air. The way they dispersed it was different...Neal's
was the usual gastronomic type while Bob's is more helium. The true
owner of this hallowed ground (or maybe I should say water, since it is
a sailing group) has been Gilly and his socks....he weaves back and
forth between the threads and is often the cohesive glue that binds
things together. He rarely rips things apart.As far as sailing content
go, the leaders here have been many: DSK ( he sails, people...get over
it), the now gone MC (the Navigator), Bart, and a few others. Neither
Bob or Neal is qualified to lead this group. Neither has the collective
knowledge or an engaging enough personality to weather the sands of
time. Proof of this? Neal has degenerated into a female sock. Bob has
left for family life (but more likely needed the rest to come up with
more insanity).
