Seems if he has his hands in his pockets you tazer him and let the
attack dogs loose on him in Portsmouth NH. I think it was a big mistake to give cops Tazers. Joe ********************** from the AP Sailor charged after DWI incident November 21, 2006 PORTSMOUTH, N.H. --State police say it took a police dog to bring down a drunken sailor early this morning in Portsmouth (New Hampshire). Breaking News Alerts Twenty-six-year-old Tyrone Moore of Philadelphia, a sailor off the USS Jacksonville nuclear sub, faces various charges after police say a trooper tried to check him for erratic driving. Police say that after being pulled over, Moore got out of his car and approached the trooper with his hands in his pockets. The trooper zapped him with a Taser, and when that didn't work, released his dog. Moore is charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest, interfering with a police dog and damaging a police cruiser. The Jacksonville is at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for maintenance. |

What size guns does the Jacksonville have. They should aim
them at Portsmouth and demand their crew back. Scotty "Joe" wrote in message oups.com.. .. He damaged the cruiser? Now, that's funny.

Bet you'd say something different if he was a car thief rather than a drunk driver. I think they're both considered to be serious criminal acts in your country. ;-o Cheers Marty |

The guy pulled over, and approched the officer with his hands in his pockets according to the news report. Not the smartest thing to do, but not bases for Tazering him and sicking a dog on him. They did that to me I'd kick out the windows in the cruiser too...drunk or not. Back when I served in the Navy the cops would turn you over to the MP's and your Captain delt with you in front of the mast. Our fighting forces deserve to vent a bit of steam once and a while, something you Canooks would know nothing about. Joe Cheers Marty |

Better that than to have the cop shoot him. I guess this is just more of your braggartly scorn for non-lethal means of incapacitating an enemy or potential enemy. No Doug...It's proven cops are trigger happy with Tazers. One here last week blasted the wrong 300 lb angry black man and today the DA dropped charges against him. He's going to sue and get millions. A guy driving by saw the whole thing. Any time a cops feels the least threatened he is happy to tazer which BTW has killed 100's. BTW it was a little 5'1' female rookie cop. Fred Weary is one of the nicest family man type person you would ever meet. Then top it off with turning loose a dog on the fellow just seems a bit over done. If a cop can not bring down a 21 yo drunker sailor without more than a baton then they should hand in thier badge in shame IMO. *****news******* HOUSTON Fred Weary's attorney says the misdemeanor resisting arrest charges against the Houston Texans guard should be dropped. Weary was shot with a Taser and arrested after a traffic stop on Tuesday. Weary's attorney, Charley Davidson, made his comments in an interview with Houston television station K-R-I-V. According to a police report, the 29-year-old Weary was pulled over near Reliant Stadium after police said they noticed him "looking very suspicious." They pulled Weary over when they noticed the car he was driving didn't have a front license plate. Police say the 6-foot-4, 308-pound Weary angrily asked why he had been pulled over and refused commands to step outside of his car. He was shot with a Taser after stepping toward the officers when he was ordered to put his hands on the vehicle. Weary returned to practice Wednesday. ********************* Martin Baxter wrote: Bet you'd say something different if he was a car thief rather than a drunk driver.
