What do you drink anyway? Do you like single malts? He likes boiler-room coffee, so I doubt if he'd go for single malts, especially Islay. Maybe Jim Beam? Max Do you like single malts? A crackling fire and a bottle of 20 year old Lagavulin contribute to a fine evening for me. I love Highland and Lowland scotches, too, but the Islay are the best, IMHO. My wife loves them, too. We also love Irish whiskeys, too, but single-malts are rare in Erin. And you? Max Single malts are the only liquor I can enjoy. The rest are too sweet or taste like gasoline. I don't drink enough to go through a lot of them, but they are enjoyable. I have a bottle of Glenfiddich, Glen Mornay(?) Glen Morangie, perhaps? and one other. I've had a large bottle of Maker's Mark for over 25 years (don't drink it much). I like bourbon, too. Recently I've taken a liking to rye, but there aren't too many still produced. Recently Wild Turkey began producing a rye (essentially the single-malts equivalent of bourbon), but I haven't tried it. Jim Beam's rye is about the best so far. Old Overholt is less satisfying. One of my favorite single-malts is Balvenie Double Wood. Give it a try. Max |
