Boat speed? 22ft LOA. close hauled. http://www.wareing77.plus.com/images/IMGP0124020.jpg Frame from video, yesterday. Pretty nice waves there. From the wave crests I'd guage the wind in the mid-teens, no spin drift or spray off the breakers (at least none showing in the photo. It doesn't look to me as if the boat is close hauled at all, more like a broad reach. Looks like a good 9 kts. 6.0 It only surfs downwind. Hard to say what the boat speed is since you can't see the stern wave in the pic. I'd have guess less than 9 though, or the track off the rudder would be more agitated. What's with that forward rail?? Looks alwful funky up forward. Yeah, it is not very pretty above the waterline. The pullpit is inside the forestay. Handy to sit in the hatch and clip on to change jibs. The plastic pipe does not help the looks either but at least I can see it without glasses! I put my effort into fixing the keel and a few other things when it broke the box and started swinging like a pendulum. I'll worry about cosmetics later. Hmmm... sails look pretty good even if the rig is unorthodox.... or does everybody in your part of the world put the bow pulpit halfway up the fore deck?! Fresh Breezes- Doug King |
