Guess WHAT????!!!!
Seems like the only one who needs to lie about is RB. Who
is trying to impress, anyways? -- Scott Vernon Plowville Pa _/)__/)_/)_ "Capt. JG" wrote in message ... What I don't get is why people feel the need to lie about stuff like this. The Kings Point station (about 1.6 miles south of City and Hart Islands) was reading 8-10, gusting to 12-13 much of the afternoon. However, between 3:30 and 6, there were some stronger gusts, as strong as 16 and 17 knots. The steady wind was not over 11 knots after 3:42. This is from a NOAA station that records every 6 minutes. http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/dat...ml?bdate=20060 928&bdate_Month=8&edate=20060929&edate_Month=8&uni t=1&shift= d&stn=8516945+Kings+Point%2C+NY&type=Meteorologica l+Observat ions&format=View+Data http://tinyurl.com/rwzr7 |

I can think of a couple of reasons, although they're not good ones. 1- the person has low self-esteem and few (or paltry) real-life accomplishments to brag about, so he makes them up. 2- the person has a socially maladaptive behavior pattern of lying about almost everything. Kids often develop this when they realize that their parents don't really have eyes in the backs of their heads, it becomes a game where lying to mommy makes them feel powerful. The vast majority of kids outgrow it. DSK |
