Default Even badder news

I was out sailing on LIS and this fast boat named "Heart of Gold" came "sailing"
past like I was standing still. (my boat's a Macgregor Venture) There was nobody at
the helm and no sign of anybody in the cockpit. There was very loud stereo music
coming from inside. Diesel exhaust was spewing from the pipe. Through the companionway
I could see a fat man slapping the **** out of some little kid. A woman was trying to save
the boy but the fat guy started shoving and punching the woman.
While this was going on "Heart of Gold" ran down and ran over two kayakers.
The fat guy lurched out into the cockpit, tossed a couple empty beer cans overboard
and started ****ing over the side while hollering to the overturned kayakers to keep
the f*ck out of his way. I sailed over to help the poor kayakers so then the fat guy
hollered, "Just let the stupid f*cks drown. They deserve to die for getting in my
way. They coulda holed my boat, the *******s!"
What did Capt. Rob's patents do wrong?

Default Can we make something outta this news group???

Very funny Paladin but wouldn't it be our benefits if you'd stop paying attention
to Capt. Rob even by poking fun. Seems to me you all complain about Capt. Rob but
you can't seem to ignore him. How's about trying ignoring any post from him that's
an obvious troll? Wouldn't that discourage him. This news group has so little content
about sailing. It oughta be called alt.wecan'tlivewithoutcaptrob.asa

Cheers,
Ellen

Well, that might all be true Ellen, but if Robbit were discouraged, the
essence of your post wouldn't change; it'd just be shorter, viz.:

This news group has so little content about sailing.

Actually, we can very well and have been for years. The
reverse is not so true.

Very cogent & to-the-point, Tadpole. How about getting us
started by telling of some of your sailing adventures!

What sailing adventures?? I'm still stuck in the sand waves of the
Strzelecki Desert, surfing the Subaru down the dune slipslopes. When I
check Lady Kate she tries to bite me. THe first decent cruise in two
years, shortly, is going to be homicidal punishment on the part of the
boat. And not having sailing adventures at present is one reason I'm not
contributing them to this group. Though I will photograph some donuts
for CRobby one day, haven't forgotten...

Perhaps I should put up a "Little Lost Subaru" page.

Bummer. But you still have a chance to practice some sailing
tactics, if not actually sailing. Does the Suburu exceed
hull speed when surfing? If you shift weight forward or aft,
does it pitch differently over the dunes?

OK, looking forward to it then! I have to sadly report that
there is one less Bolger Box in the world today, our
one-sheet Shoebox-inspired dinghy completed it's
transformation to mulch. One of today's chores is to take
the remaining small pile of fiberglass tape & spray foam to
the "recycle facility."

When I get a little breather from other projects, I am
thinking of building a new version of this boat in foam
core, it was a very servicable and practical boat, just a
bit on the heavy side.

Now that's mean. Funny, but mean.
