What can I say...beautiful weather...we sailed for most of the day and Thomas napped and played and generally had a great time. He's taken to standing on the bottom of the wheel and riding it while we sail. No pics today...I left the memory card in the computer!!! For a moment I thought you had rigged s Stuns'l on your boat, but nothing so interesting. I had a fun sail yesterday - I took my daughter to the river with intentions of taking out a Rhodes 19, but they were all in use. We settled on a small 12 foot dinghy. Since it was puffy (5-20+ knots) and shifty (W-NE), I was a tad apprehensive, but all the old reflexes came back once we left the dock. Sorry, no pics; the OptioWP was in my pocket but I was too busy to take it out! |

What do you think of the Sony DSC S500? Nikon 5600? Nikon L3? I have not tried the low-end 6mp Sony. Some sonys have focus issues in dim light while others do better. I wouldn't but one without trying it first or seeing a lot of reviews. Please don't buy the Nikon Coolpix line. They have the worst auto focus module going. They are all quite poor in dim light and only mediocre in most other conditions. They are also fragile. I just used a Nikon S5 and it died after a minor bump. Before it died it had a typical AF failure rate for Nikon...awful unit. Nikon makes great DSLRs and terrible P&S cameras. Casio/Pentax is probably the best pick along with Fuji. The Casio Z120 is excellent and cheap to buy. It's Pentax version is more pricey...but no different. RB |

What do you think of the Canon FTb? I love those Canons...and I still won't sell my Canon Canonette rangefinder for that very reason. It works just fine with a dead battery! RB |

The S500 seems too new for reviews? Casio is too expensive. I have to stay under $200. That's what my monthly boat payments were before it got repo'ed. SBV |

I believe that Ansel Adams used a cheap instamatic camera in his career.
It's not the camera, even pin hole cameras which cost practically nothing can take fantastic pictures. It's the photographer. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Bob Crantz" wrote in message . .. http://www.argonauta.com/html/holga_cameras.htm $15!!!!!! Art!!!! |

Scotty, you can get the Casio Z120 from places like J&R for 219.00 and cheaper if you hunt around. The Casio Z60 is also around the same price at Circuit City. The Z120 may be better for you because it'll take standard AA batteries...way cheaper to use. The Z60 is nice in black.... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...=424559&is=REG RB |

You think the Z60 is better than a Sony W7 or W 5? SBV |
