![]() "Scotty" wrote in message . .. Did you know this? Moorings suck. They're for small toy boats and folks who can't afford a slip. I generally hear that excuse from the obese section. Too fat to waddle into a tender or to frail to climb aboard. It's an accepted fact that a boat at a mooring takes far less wear and is always presenting the least area to the wind. It is far easier to sail off & to a mooring. A dock is what you tie up to load supplies and complete repairs. Large sail vessels always take moorings or set anchor. The privacy of sitting to your mooring and enjoying the scenery is priceless. Generally up here.... powerboats take slips and sailboats go to a mooring. Powerboaters and sailors with impairments can be excused for their envious comments regarding a mooring. CM- |
