I've also always been a bit concerned, but I think strikes are fairly rare.
I've been sailing during lightning (not by choice, we were trying to get back), and it was landing all around us, but nothing hit. Had a ladie and 13 YO girl at the beach strunk yesterday. Kinda makes me skiddish sailing the Dink hearing the thunder all around. Don't know how anyone could stand living on a plastic sailboat with a metal mast, you're just asking for trouble. Same with cruising boats. Joe |
