RB can only associate liquor with excess. Real manly men can and do
hold
their liquor. Mooron holds it with both hands.

In many hundreds of tests, it has been found that even a single beer
impairs reaction time for ANYONE.
Since I'm one of the few people here actually earning money with
sailing, I could claim I deserve a drink now and again. But I don't
need to drink. Like smoking it's for the weak willed.

Nutsy,

Over-eating or being Hungry will impair reaction. So will being tired.
Being distracted can be a lot worst than a couple of drinks. MODERATE
Nutsy. I alway tried to seriously examine my own condition when the
"Sun rose over the Yardarm" and if conditions warranted it; a beer or
better was in order. Served me well for almost 70 years.

After some years as a bouncer, I've probably heard every excuse there
is to drink and operate a car, boat and even a motorcycle. The most
common is the "I've been doing it for XX amount of years and I've been
fine."
Well, that's great. But too many people haven't been fine and have hurt
themselves and others. The bottom line is that no one drinks on my boat
while underway. As you've seen from the many pics, no one has had a
problem with this. Go sailing, clear your head and the bloodstream
while you're at it.
Now that Thomas is aboard if I see anyone drinking while piloting a
boat, I will report them without hesitation. Drinking and operating ANY
kind of vehicle is both childish and foolish. It's also selfish.
I did my fair share of drinking, Thom. Then I grew up and realized even
moderate drinking is better left behind. I haven't regretted that
decision for a moment. It's very depressing to find a person drinks,
smokes or voted for Bush these days.

You've just contradicted yourself. After x years of doing y...

Well, that's great. But too many people haven't been fine and have hurt

But not all, not a majority, not a large minority. A very, very small
minority.

The bottom line is that no one drinks on my boat
while underway.

Yet a Ghost Girl got groped by a drunk!

As you've seen from the many pics, no one has had a

Is a picture really proof?

In the air of NYC? You gotta be kidding.

But it is not illegal! In Wyoming and Montana you can drink and drive as
long as you are not drunk. In fact you can drink and drive in all states in
your blood alcohol is below the limit.

It's also selfish.

That's due to a medical condition, not a moral decision.

I haven't regretted that
decision for a moment.

Liar! You wish you had good bowel health. Then you would drink!

It's very depressing to find a person drinks,
smokes or voted for Bush these days.

It must suck to be you. I could care less about what others do as long as
they do me no harm.

We had some very bad accidents on the LIS last season due to drunk boat
operators. In fact they were the ONLY accidents I heard about that
caused both injury and death.

We don't sail in NYC.

Good reason to avoid those states. Two beers and you're over the limit
in most cases.

Wrong again, I stopped drinking when a close friend nearly died from
it. I was 31 at the time and was not as yet diagnosed with any illness.

Liar! You wish you had good bowel health. Then you would drink!

I've been in remission since Thomas came into my life. In fact there is
no sign that I was ever sick. Roughy 5% of colitis sufferers experience
such remissions and sometimes the symptoms never return. My fingers are
crossed.

Short sighted. The premature or even violent deaths of others does do
you harm. You should be wise enough to know that by now. Certainly
every person who voted for Bush did you harm.
