For those Bleeding Hearts, with the Big Mouths about Iraq Lose of Lives.

Today is a Time to remember what the Cost of Victory is and not just in
money. It was a very costly Battle in lives lost but people fought
knowing the risk of death was very high. They went willingly and Stopped
the Mad Men of the Nazi Germany.

God Bless You; "Gold Star Heroes!"

D-Day was an incredible undertaking and few people today
realize how much the outcome teetered on the brink. The men
who were on the spot at the time and tipped the balance
should be recognized & remembered as heroes.

Yep, a war worth fighting....pity we don't have leaders with brains
today.

I wouldn't mind that so much, but the problem now is that
we've got the leaders that Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and
Maxprop deserve. The rest of us deserve at least slightly
better, but have been dragged down.

No one gets "dragged down" that isn't willing to be. Bush is the leader
*you* deserve, as well. If your candidate didn't win, you have no one to
blame but the failure of your political constituency to be victorious.

And while you're being a jerk and lumping me in with Ann Coulter, perhaps
you'd care to be lumped in with George Soros, Al Franken, and Michael Moore?

You put yourself there with your behavior. If you don't like
it, then change the way you act.

Absolutely true.

And Maxprop accuses me of not finding anything funny about
the far-right wing.

Perhaps Maxipad fails to see that these people are entertainers first. That
is what gets them their paycheck and power.

The right wing is much more hysterical than the loonie left. The loonie left
take themselves too seriously. The right preaches morals and look so funny
when caught with their hand down a boy's pants or lose their hearing to
painkiller addictions. With the right it is the hypocrisy. With the left it
is the stoopidity. Both provide good theater.

Amen!

What Max believes is that Doug has nothing resembling a sense of humor.
Doug is an angry, strident whiner, and while he claims to interject humor
into his political diatribes he tends to allow his angry side too much
latitude. He's the sort we all tend to back away from when he's ****ed.

Further I am well aware that Rush and Ann are entertainers first, last, and
in between. I've never taken any political pundits seriously, nor do I take
our Congressmen and Senators seriously, at least not until they attempt to
run for higher office. What's amusing is that I can rip Ann Coulter a new
one and Doug will continue to blast me as a right-wing wacko nonetheless.

I couldn't agree more. Doug doesn't listen to me--he assumes that I'm a
right-wing fanatic, when all along I've been either playing devil's advocate
or blasting the extremes equally. His mind is made up--don't confuse him
with humor or satire.

Politics is a sordid business. The players are usually some of the most
flawed individuals that occupy space on the planet, and that applies to
politicians everywhere, not just here. They are easy targets. Good theater
aside, they are certainly yanking a lot of citizens' chains collectively.
The chain around Doug's neck is getting elongated from being yanked so
frequently and firmly.

Are you so blind to your own behavior that you believe yourself to be any
different, albeit at the opposite end of the political spectrum?

1- I am not at the "opposite end of the political spectrum"
except possibly with regard to principle

2- My behavior is very considerably different. You and Dave
are the only ones who think I insult others for disagreeing,
and then only some of the time. Everybody knows that you do
it all the time.

So it isn't really a question of "belief" now is it?

(which was an ad hominem attack to my discussion of a principle)

Clearly a matter of opinion. I tend to believe you are among the most
liberal of posters herein, only slightly to the right of Bubbles. You, of
course, are in constant verbal denial of this, but the facts speak for
themselves: you've supported one of the most liberal of democrats ever to
run for president, and you have regurgitated much of the same dogma that I
see on the far left websites. You've branded any of the current
conservative players in the political mess to be corrupt, illicit, and
without morality. You call them all "neocons," as if this is an abberation
of your brand of "conservatism." None of the conservatives I know
personally have any of these viewpoints.

2- My behavior is very considerably different. You and Dave are the only

No one in the NG is lilly white w/r/t ad hominems, but both Dave and I tend
to discuss principles without attacking you. You, OTOH, seldom debate an
issue without attacking me personally, and I suspect you attack Dave as
well, although I really don't read enough of your and his posts to know for
sure. It's a suspicion based upon your behavior with me.

So it isn't really a question of "belief" now is it?

Right. It's more a question of denial: yours.
