I think large cities should be proactive on this issue and legislate that unless there is a specific reason for driving a pick up truck or SUV in the city, less than 3 occupants, etc, that those vehicles be disallowed (passing through on the xway not counting). Lets take action on the REAL issue behind this and many other issues by severely limiting the number of children people can have. Reduce the world population by 50% and a lot of current problems will simply vanish along with the excess population. Your Mom should be severely fined and punished for having you. S |

Scotty, don't get too upset. This guy (or is it a woman?) is not worth
responding to, although you are correct of course. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Scotty" wrote in message ... "Mys Terry" wrote in message ... On Wed, 26 Apr 2006 14:12:45 -0700, "Capt. That's an easy fix. It's called Weight Watchers.

Yeah, I've heard that, too. And I disagree. Americans love big, consumptive vehicles (boats, airplanes, and motorhomes as well as cars). All those fuel prices will do is put some people in the poor house, shut down some small ma-pa businesses, convince Daimler-Chrysler to import the Smart Car, and tank the economy while causing inflation and interest rates to rise. But the total fuel burned in this country won't change much, if at all. Ethanol is a great alternative fuel, and almost inexhaustible. But Big Oil has seen to it that it will never be readily accepted, at least as long as the flow of crude is unimpeded, despite the cost. Max |

?? I drive a Jeep, and I have three other cars. I'm willing to pay more or
pick smaller cars if that's what it takes. I don't often agree with Bushco, and even though he's just pandering, I agree that America is addicted to oil produced by countries who are hostile to us. We should let them eat their oil by reducing our dependency. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Scotty" wrote in message ... "Capt. JG" wrote in message ... The point is not to "collapse" the economy. Not for truckers. They (and other groups) should get a discount. It should
be $5/gal for regular drivers. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Scotty" wrote in message ... Jackass! "Capt. JG" wrote in message ... We've been paying $3.35 or so. I hope it goes up to $5. |
