I've also read that 80 mpg is more typical.
The higher mpg's are achieved by drafting on motorhomes. "Scout" wrote "Bart Senior" .@. wrote I'd buy a diesel version if it was available in the US. 95mpg is fabulous. No kidding. Would you trust you life to one of these
ar freeway speeds? I noticed there are two other versions, a couple and convertible sports car, and talk of an SUV version. My main interest is in a diesel. It is disgraceful the diesel version is not available in the US. I wonder if I bought one in Canada and drove it down here, if I could get it through DMV. Perhaps I should just register it in Canada? I noticed there are two other versions, a couple and convertible sports car, and talk of an SUV version. Hmmmmm.... can't see a 4x4 of this car at all. Thanks! Its a 1961, and since it's a classic I do not have to deal with
emissions inspections. I was thinking of dropping a 289 in her, but with the way gas is going I'm keeping the 144. Going to get it painted back to the original Poppie Red and white. Also just got a set of original spinner hubcaps. It's great around town but tops out at 60 on the highway.... unless you draft on a motor home or semitruck. Joe |
