I guess we'd all seem a bit "mad" by their standards.
KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan man facing the death penalty for converting from Islam to Christianity may be mentally unfit to stand trial, a state prosecutor and presidential adviser said Wednesday. Abdul Rahman, 41, went on trial last week in Kabul. He was arrested last month after his family accused him of becoming a Christian. The conversion is a crime under Afghanistan's Islamic laws, and a death sentence is possible. But prosecutor Sarinwal Zamari said questions have been raised about his mental fitness. "We think he could be mad. He is not a normal person. He doesn't talk like a normal person," he told The Associated Press. |

I know why they think he is mad, he must be
preaching forgiveness. "Maxprop" wrote KABUL, Afghanistan - An Afghan man facing the death penalty for converting from Islam to Christianity may be mentally unfit to stand trial, "We think he could be mad. He doesn't talk like a normal person," he told The Associated Press. |

It's illegal to proseltytize, or in some cases, toopenly practice, Christianity in many Moslem countries. What do you want, to return the favor? Bart Senior wrote: I know why they think he is mad, he must be preaching forgiveness. Maybe. Keep in mind, they also think that a man who does not beat his woman must be mad (or weak). This is in a place where a man threw a hand grenade into the lion's cage at the zoo, in order to "get revenge" for his brother whom the lion had killed & eaten when the brother jumped into the cage to prove his bravery. Iraq" and Iran is next. This is progress! -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Maxprop" wrote in message ink.net... I guess we'd all seem a bit "mad" by their standards. Makes me want to start a Christian mission in Afghanistan, or at least
a holy crusade or something. They are all nuts... and talk funny IMO. Joe |
