Frank Yes, Thom definitely needs to go stare into a light bulb for awhile...such talk... |

The whole Seattle area is depressed right now, over their superbowl loss. Hope Thom didn't lose too much money on the game. Scotty |

This group is very serious about sailing. Yes it is. Deadly serious in some cases! ... If you have a question, then you will find that this is the best place to ask it. Actually it's one of the better places I know of. Is that a compliment to the group, or a sad commentary on the rest of the world? However, if you think that "I have a fear of sailing with my husband" is a question, then you will be dissappointed. Do you have a question? Of course. You just have to parse the original poster's words correctly. And "I have a fear of sailing with my husband" is indeed a question. We just need a little more information to zero in on a quantitative answer. Is the primary issue sailing/husband, or fear/husband... or if it's fear/sailing, then what can the husband do to reclaim his wife's attention(s)? You all don't get 'Car Talk' over there, do you? It is a statement of fact. It says that the lady's husband is untrustworthy. My wife, who isn't a sailor, trusts me when I tell her what to expect. I suspect that your wife trusts you to tell the truth. There are many men who take their wives out sailing in inappropriate conditions .... and they later regret the fact that their wives won't go sailing with them. If the man was trustworthy, then the wife would not be worried about going sailing with him. You all don't get 'Car Talk' over there, do you? I don't think so.. If it is a TV programme, then I wouldn't know. I've given up watching it! Regards Donal -- |

words correctly. And "I have a fear of sailing with my husband" is indeed a question. Donal wrote: No, it isn't!! It is a statement of fact. Every statement of fact is also a question, if you look at it right. It says that the lady's husband is untrustworthy. Agreed. My wife, who isn't a sailor, trusts me when I tell her what to expect. I suspect that your wife trusts you to tell the truth. Yes, she does. She reserves the right to test my statements though ![]() There are many men who take their wives out sailing in inappropriate conditions .... and they later regret the fact that their wives won't go sailing with them. There are also a lot of men who 1- don't know how to sail very well 2- don't take their wives' feelings into account (and this goes for far more than taking them sailing) We just need a little more information to zero in on a quantitative answer. Is the primary issue sailing/husband, or fear/husband... or if it's fear/sailing, then what can the husband do to reclaim his wife's attention(s)? The primary issue is "husband". If the man was trustworthy, then the wife would not be worried about going sailing with him. Agreed, but more to the point the man should be either a good sailor *and* willing to work at getting his wife to like sailing, *or* have an attitude such that they can enjoy learning together. You all don't get 'Car Talk' over there, do you? I don't think so.. If it is a TV programme, then I wouldn't know. I've given up watching it! Smart move. But 'Car Talk' is a radio program where people call in to ask advice about problems with their car, and often the calls involve spouses. It's hilarious. http://www.cartalk.com/Radio/Show/ DSK |
