This is not the only NG I read and there are very frequently individuals
that write here that can benefit from my experience. I don't ene bother to read 90% as it is chest thumping they guy that bought a bendytoe or Bush-bashing political propaganda. I have a life, but I'm not at sea today. Matt Colie Capt.Mooron wrote: So Matt.... why do you hang out here??? "Matt Colie" wrote in message ... Dianna, This NG periodically has something of interest to sailors, but not very often. I have a filter set so if there is somthing - it stands out. You might better try alt.sailing (no asa). There is a great deal less traffic there, but it is almost always about sailing and it is read by people that might be interested in helping you and not venting political propaganda or bragging about some foolish event. Matt Colie Lifelong Waterman, Licensed Mariner and Perpetual Sailor DC wrote: Found this newsgroup just a bit ago and have been reading. Can't get a handle on it though. Seems as though it's not too serious about sailing. Can someone recommend a good newsgroup for learning and posting newbie questions, like "I have a fear of sailing with my husband" Thanks. Scout OK... well I won't spoil the other puzzle for Katy - I would ask a bro to tell me which way the other bro would tell me to go to Bristol. If I asked the honest guy, he'd tell me the truth - that the other brother would tell me to go the wrong way - so I'd go the other way. Conversely, if I'd asked the liar, he'd lie and tell me the wrong way that the other bro would say. So again, I'd go the other road. But you can ask only one question! If you asked the honest one, he'd tell you which way the other would tell you to go, but you'd have no way of knowing that you had asked the honest brother. He'd be telling the truth, but you'd be no better off! Scout Reading too fast, my bad. Just ask either brother, which way will your brother tell me to go to get to Bristol, then go the opposite direction. John Cairns |
