Actually, Doug, that's a good launch for a new thread....

We named our boat "Chanteuse" because, of course, she's French and needed
a French name, but we also wanted to incorporate something personal, as we
have with all our boats. After test sailing her, we noticed that she
sings when she's zipping along, plus the connection with my then avocation
of singing. Hence "Chanteuse": female singer.



Different, anyways. Talisman got named by the po, like the graphics so I
kept the name. Being lazy helps also :) My favorite boat name story is
"Quetzal", my friend John's boat. He tells the story of the elusive Mayan
bird that can't be kept in captivity, and allowed that he had never seen
another boat with that name. We get to Villamoura at night, next day I
notice a boat with the name on the transom. John was crushed, I've a
feeling that that particular name is fairly common in Europe.

Sometimes my hair is short and neat. I get it cut every six
months whether it needs it or not.
