People tend to buy things that suit their personalities.

One thing I've noticed is some will complain about their wives, some will
shoot their dogs, **** and moan about their car, but nobody ever says
anything really bad about their boats. Why?

Gee, never heard anyone do much complaining about their wives/dogs/cars
here, but maybe I wasn't following closely enough. And for the most part we
seem to be happy with our choice of boat with one notable exception. If you
ask specific questions you might hear folks offer good criticism about what
they don't like about their boats.
