Yellowknife in Dec/Jan ...sunrise at 1100hrs and sunset at 1400hrs. The sun
just skirts the southern horizon. They call it "cabin fever" by February. [SADS] Yellowknife in June/July.... walk out of the bar at 0200hrs and realize you are hammered drunk in broad daylight... again. CM "Bart Senior" .@. wrote in message ... My God! only 8 hours of daylight! Can you imagine living even farther north? A swedish girl I dated told me she would walk home from parties at 3am and the sun would just be going down in the summer. They must only a very few hours of daylight during the winter. I'd go insane. It is no wonder they all head south when they can. "Donal" wrote "Bart Senior" .@. wrote in message ... How short are your days on Dec 21st? Ours are dang short. Sunrise is after 7am and sunset is about 4:30 pm here. Your's must more than an hour shorter? I'm at 51 degrees north. Sunrise on 21st Dec 08:04 ... Sunset 15:54 . Thank God that I've taken an interest in astronomy!! I used to really HATE winter. Donal |
