Default It's all About the Boat

so much so that a
few folks here mentioned how much alike the C&C and Express looked.
Still, the Express is the boxy uglified version, though faster than her

C&C cousins. I didn't know they only got to 100 hulls. That's quite a
failure and explains why so few people even heard of them. I like the
impressive performance of the Express, but can't get past the looks or
cheap looking interior.

If you knew anything you would know that Express Yachts was founded by
a few ex C&C people. That's why there are some construction
similarities. As far as design, C&C uses in house (Rob Ball) and
Express used Steve Killing. They only got to around 90 hulls because
it was the mid eighties when many manufactures went under. Hell, even
S2 left the sailboat business. No one can say they wern't successful.
As far as the thirty being ugly ..... I've never met anyone who thought
that and you look silly when you make the statement. But hey, you
claim 120 or so 35s5s was a big success story or was it that they were
worth more since they built less. Here's a factoid. Your 35s5 is not
the speed demon you claim. It's just average for a 35 footer at best.
An easy example is the Express 35: Better construction, interior that
is just as nice probably constructed better, great offshore
racer/cruiser and it rates 108. Boobie, that's way faster than your
new ride.

What an idiot!!! I said they were cousins!

Not Beneteau. They were able to adapt. Boats from C&C and Express were
already lacking major features of better boats from Europe and couldn't
compete. Oh...and now it's 90 hulls!!!!

As far as the thirty being ugly ..... I've never met anyone who

They were being nice to you since you own one. I e-mailed pics of the
Express 30 to a lot of people and virtually everyone said it looked
dated and "hard" looking. I agree, mostly due to slab stern section and
boxy cabin trunk that needs softer integration with the deck. She has
weak lines.

But hey, you
claim 120 or so 35s5s was a big success story or was it that they were

They sold 450 of them!!!! There are about 120 in the US. Dohh!!!!
Bwahahahahaha! The 35s5 was a big success, just too expensive here.

An easy example is the Express 35:

Hmmmmm. Most 35 foot boats handicap above 140. A Catalalina 36 is an
average boat. The 35s5 rates as low as 114 and has beaten the Express
35 boat for boat as I posted! The Express interior is AWFUL and dated.
I can't believe you'd even bring that up. Then again 120 isn't a whole
lot faster than your boat, as you've pointed out! But suddenly 108 is a
LOT faster than my boat???
Must be that new math again!

Oh my...you screwed the pooch!
