Default Boat Wanted

I'm looking for a racer/cruiser that meets the following criteria:

Fast 34-36 footer (PHRF below 135 or better)

Good resale value
Not older than say 1985
Price range 50-75K

I'm shocked by the price!! My *new* 33.7 was within your price bracket...
and the 33.7 has a lower PHRF.

Regards

Donal....I like your boat a lot, but they don't cost 57K or even 75K
here. The 35s5 (which cost 57K) gives us plenty of speed and an
interior that fits us a bit better. If racing was higher on my list, a
33.7 might have been considered more. Also, the small performance gain
for the 33.7 here seems to run hand in hand with a near 7 foot draft
which doesn't work for us. The standard draft 33.7 rates 129 just like
the 35s5 WK in many areas. Finally, there's the US quality factor on
the interior to contend with. Based on my conversations with dealers I
won't but a newer US built boat from Beneteau. As I think I mentioned,
our interior was not built here.
FYI, our next boat could very well be a 45f5...but that's 4-5 years off
at least. This is plenty of boat for us now.

I like the 35s5 just fine. Since you seem to be clueless, Bubbles, I'll
spell it out for you: it's not your boat I'm jousting with, it's your
hubris. Humility is an endearing characteristic. You might wish to give it
a try.

Oh? How's that, Gary? Do you see me bragging about my boat, my cameras, my
this, my that every day with 50 to 100 posts? Do you hear me denigrating
others boats in order to make mine seem superior?

If you are going to dream of owing a superior production boat, you should
take a look at what Swan builds.

A Swan for local daysailing and weekend cruises on the Sound? Yeah,
sure. That makes sense. About as much sense as Jeff's PDQ.

Bubbles: "Wow, just look at the idiot sailing that Swan. What a waste.
Dumb *******."

Swan skipper: "Hmm. A Bendy 35 over there . . . poor *******."
