You have just solo sailed into a strange new port in a
foreign country. You found a spot at the clearnance dock but it is a tight fit. No one is around to help. What is the best way to get your boat in there? |

That's pretty vague on details Bart.... lots of ways to get into tight
places. What's the tide? The Current? The wind?.... I'm taking that you have been cleared to dock and yellow quarantine ensign is displayed. CM "Bart Senior" .@. wrote in message ... What is the best way to get your boat in there? Fire a few rounds in the air, someone's bound to show up and help you! What's the best weapon for announcing arrival at the customs dock, 12ga., or maybe a Norma 454? Trick question. Dock as you normally would. It's not a problem.

What is the best way to get your boat in there? Not enough info. Wind? Current? Depth? Exposure? Is the dock floating or not? Is there anything sticking out or proud of the side? Are there bollards/cleats or 4X4s? Height off the water? What kind of boat is it? I wouldn't put mine in there by myself unless there was bags of room. I summary, I'd ask for help or anchor. Gaz |

Consider that in a foreign port, any damage you
cause could get your boat impounded. The other key fact being, you are by yourself and docking solo. "Capt. JG" wrote Trick question. Dock as you normally would. It's not a problem. Like I said, trick question. Proceed and you shall dock successfully. Any
hesitation will only bring disaster. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Bart Senior" .@. wrote in message ... Consider that in a foreign port, any damage you cause could get your boat impounded. The smart think to do is to anchor, and if you
really must get into the dock, warp it in. "Gary" wrote Bart Senior wrote: You have just solo sailed into a strange new port in a foreign country.
