Default Seamanship Question #25

The smart think to do is to anchor, and if you
really must get into the dock, warp it in.

You have just solo sailed into a strange new port in a
foreign country. You found a spot at the clearnance
dock but it is a tight fit. No one is around to help.

What is the best way to get your boat in there?

Not enough info. Wind? Current? Depth? Exposure? Is the dock floating or
not? Is there anything sticking out or proud of the side? Are there
bollards/cleats or 4X4s? Height off the water? What kind of boat is it? I
wouldn't put mine in there by myself unless there was bags of room.

I summary, I'd ask for help or anchor.
