Thankfully, no.

Why "thankfully?" If you were from Texas you'd be sure you were right about
everything despite being wrong about everything. Provides a great sense of
mental security.

It's one of those fly-over states.

I've never been there, except for a very brief change of planes at DFW.
That f***ing monstrosity is so huge that it took us the whole half hour to
walk from one gate to the subsequent one. And we only covered about 25% of
the terminal, walking at a very brisk pace. They have a train to move
people around the terminal--we should have taken it to save time. You could
put Chicago within the boundaries of that airport. The weather was foggy,
so we didn't have to actually *see* Texas.

I drove across three times. One roundtrip in my car, once in one
direction hitchhiking. Actually, the people were very nice. I
even got a ride from a local FAA guy who caught me trying to hitchhike
on small planes in a small airport (forget which one... near Texarkana
I believe). Another guy in his 80s stopped on the wrong side of the
street to ask if I wanted a ride. Got to be fast friends with him and
his wife cooked me dinner.
