Did You Pick the Wrong Boat?
Fractional rigs are fine as long as you have a spinnaker.

Most people who know ANYTHING know that a masthead is the way to go for places like LIS and the Chesapeake. So in conclusion it looks like you picked the wrong boat yourself.
