BB got that info from his gizmo sales worm.
Sadly the Navy is about to announce that we will officially be eliminated the Quarter Master's rating. The title will only be a paragraph in the history books. As it stands now, QMs will merge with, and share in the duties of Operation Specialists in 2006. I guess progress means that the Navy no longer needs dedicated Master Mariners on the bridge because gizmo whiz-bang technology has the capability to accurately and instantly provide the ship's position on a display screen. Great technology, to be sure... but what about having focused cappable Master Mariners on the bridge? You now see why sailors like BB fear sailing out of the sight of land, why they worry about breaking a compass, the binnacle fgalling over, paper chart getting blown overboard. Without a machine telling what to do they would crumble like the oreo cookies they steals from the little rugrat! GOD forbid they ever lost all power!!!!! All they know.... they learned from the Gizmo man. I pity the man who never knows what he going to miss not having paper charts. I bet BB thinks TVMDC is a hip hopp station on the boobtube. Joe |
