Navy is phasing out Paper Charts
And thats fine for the Navy. But not for a sailor on his own boat. I
can find no reason I would want to toss my charts.
But then again not only do I maintain a proper plot, I make notes on my
charts, drawings, symbols, dock names, locations of fuel and water,
marina notes, channel notes, fishing hot spots, good catches, regetta
routes, hang off bouys, liquor stores, shrimboat docks, landmarks,
field notes, bridge and lock channels, traffic notes, oyster reefs,
grocery stops, and a hundred other things you will not see or recall on
your gizmos. I can access this information without power.... and it's
crash and virus free.
No need for a fat ass lubbery loser like BB to get up and do a proper
plot when he can watch it on TV I guess.
