I might degausse her if I was to head out open ocean. I helped degausse
the USS Samuel Gompers AD-37 in 1980. We wrapped the whole ship like
you would a nail to turn it into a magnet. Took over 10 miles of shore
power cable and about a week of work for 30-40 people.

RedCloud has been hit twice by lighting Mooron. I was onboard both
times.

My neighbors P40 was hit once and it melted everything electrical on
his boat...EVERYTHING.

Only thing affected on my boat was a TV.... I had a pair or rabbit
ears ziptied to the forward stay. Everthing else was fine.
