I might degausse her if I was to head out open ocean. I helped degausse
the USS Samuel Gompers AD-37 in 1980. We wrapped the whole ship like
you would a nail to turn it into a magnet. Took over 10 miles of shore
power cable and about a week of work for 30-40 people.
