Default Canadian Obedience

TORONTO (Reuters) - The Roman Catholic Bishop of Calgary says that if it
were up to him, he would consider excommunicating Canadian Prime Minister
Paul Martin for his plan to legalize same-sex marriage.

Bishop Frederick Henry said that Martin's politics clash so severely with
his religion that the two cannot possibly be reconciled.

"You're either with the (Roman Catholic) Church or you're not," said Bishop
Henry during an interview with a Toronto radio station on Tuesday.

Yeah... funny isn't it! Martin is a Catholic and told everyone that the
church has no business in government and that any decisions by the
government would not be influenced by the church.

Martin may have opposition to the same sex marriage bill..... but he has no
opposition about the place of the church in politics. Parliament won't even
entertain the request from the churches [all of them] to address the issue
in house.

You Yanks should pay attention.

Yes it is. I love my country, but I don't love my country right or wrong,
unlike some of the people who voted for him.
