Default Big Problem: Canadian C-Map and Navionics charts

There's a real cat fight going on between NDI, a private company which has
complete control of Canadian chart rights, and the major vendors of
electronic charts for that area. C-Map and Navionics have stopped selling
Canadian charts pending resolution of the issue! They claim that NDI has
asked for a 50% of retail price royalty when the international norm is 15%
of net. It looks like the results of this will be much higher prices for
boaters. There's lots of information posted at www.navionics.com, including
e-mail and phone numbers for NDI and the Canadian Hydrographic Office.
Interested navigators may want to express themselves!
