I know I'd have to eat a lot of crow if I ever got such a boat but my boat
is too small and some people absolutely refuse to use a cedar bucket for their bathtub and their toilet. But, I would keep my present small and perfect boat as well, so as to be a two-boat family. Haven't seen it yet but the ad says both sails are only a year old and the North Main is full batten. I would guess it is free-footed. At any rate it will skunk your sail because full-batten sails are more efficient and powerful. ![]() Shows what little you know about sailing, Katy. Soap does not work in salt water. You might as well rub yourself with a candle or a piece of suet. Real sailors know it takes a detergent to work in salt water. Remind me to never offer to take along on a cruise to the Bahamas. A hot, dirty, sticky, smelly Katysails - yuck! We sail in fresh water where soap works quite well...you can't get really
clean with salt water, even with detergent...there is still detritus left from the salt on your skin...and you smell of iodine...we always shower with fresh water after having bathed in the ocean...to get the yuck off...
