I've seen a few trawlers with stayed stablizing rigs, so they had chainplates. C'mon, Doug. You know better than that. Did their chainplates go thru the deck? Yes, and how would that matter? It's still a weakness in the deck as is any hardware, whether it be for leaks or rot in a cored deck. Even a top fitting can leak into a core and come through somewhere else. Really, Doug. C'mon. Yeah Doug. The core under the plastic always rotts, swells, cracks,
blisters, weakens, basically goes to hell in a hand basket. Well not aways.....The power of Steel! Joe |

Now you're agreeing with me that it would be smart to look for signs of water intrusion at deck fittings, such as chainplates, on any boat? That's what I thought. DSK |

I've looked at a 100 or more trawlers,
Well, that's ALL of them then, right?! I've seen them and you know full well that some have chainplates. RB |

your typical ignorance.. Isn't it funny how the Boob calls all the real sailors on here ignorant. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" "Trains are a winter sport" |

"SAIL LOCO" wrote in message Isn't it funny how the Boob calls all the real sailors on here ignorant. I don't think that's an accurate statement... you are no "real sailor" and he calls you ignorant a lot! Seems to me he has you pegged pretty well.... CM |

"DSK" wrote in message ... Did I say that no trawlers have chainplates? You're a bigger moron than that Crapton! What you said, Douggies, is: "Right. Tell me where the chainplates are on a trawler. Bozo knows more about boats than you." It sounds to me like you were saying trawlers have no chainplates. If you thought they had chainplates you would not have made the above stupid statement. You're clearly confused and a loser. You're also an idiot. I've seen plenty of REAL trawlers that have a sizable mast for a riding sail to keep them from rolling the like the garbage scows they are. These masts are supported by stays and shrouds which are attached to chainplates. Just because you have a pretend trawler - really just another generic stinkpot - don't get your pink panties all in a wad! CN |
