So whaddaya think of the 300D? Did you get just the body and buy a

seperate
lens or did you get the package?

Package.... It came with a zoom lens.

So far, I am extremely pleased.

As a "normal" camera it performs brilliantly. I took 88 photos(with
flash)
at my son's 18 birthday party. 95% of them(or more) are of good quality.

As an astro camera, I am impressed with the lack of noise. Neither of
the
photos that I posted have had any noise reduction techniques applied. You
can see a few bits of noise in the originals, but not many. Both photos
have been treated in the Gimp for colour balance - because light pollution
means that my sky looks red.

Regards

Donal

Don't consider myself much of a photographer, but the thing that sold me was
the 100 asa speed, the comparable Nikon wasn't offering it.

My dad is recovered, but not from the death of his wife. Nor are we.
Thomas is doing great! I'll post a new pic shortly.

Thanks,

RB
