I'm Back at Last

In the space a few months....baby is born, his grandmother dies after just
three weeks of knowing him and a terrible car accident nearly claims my
father's life.
But now...things are starting to return to normal. I see the group churns along
it's merry way...sort of. I can't wait for the new sailing season to start.

Hey, Donal...did you ever get the scope? Which one? Tested a lot of scopes
recently and traded in my C9.25 for a new C8 SGT with XLT coatings. It's for
local use. Here's a pic for you, taken with the D70 and a Tokina 400mm
lens...took quite a few shots before I got a "good" one.

Hey Bob,

Welcome back. Sorry to hear your Dad was in a car accident.
What happened?

Nice shot of the moon, Last night while viewing the moon's Goclenius
crater it looked to me like a two lane ancient highway ran from
Goclenius over to the Webb U crater, about 1/3 of the way over there is
a crossong, if you do a right turn off the hwy you could drive strait
to the Messier DA crater or if you turned south it runs strait to the
Crozier crater. I just do not think such a precise trail is just impact
discarge do you. Have you seen this highway? If not check it out, I
know with you cheaply made new celestron you can not get the same
clarity as my superior vintage model, but you should be able to see the
basics.

Your luck should change for the better. LP made me throw away my
Voodoo doll. Perhaps, now, all my hatred for liberals will not be
channeled into punishment for them by the Voodoo gods.

Here are my first photo's.

Unfortunately, Machh... lost its tail on the night that I was able to take
the photo(Jan 8th).

So whaddaya think of the 300D? Did you get just the body and buy a seperate
lens or did you get the package?

Are those pressure rings in the photo, or just Fraunhoffers?

Nice nebula photo.

Package.... It came with a zoom lens.

So far, I am extremely pleased.

As a "normal" camera it performs brilliantly. I took 88 photos(with
flash)
at my son's 18 birthday party. 95% of them(or more) are of good quality.

As an astro camera, I am impressed with the lack of noise. Neither of
the
photos that I posted have had any noise reduction techniques applied. You
can see a few bits of noise in the originals, but not many. Both photos
have been treated in the Gimp for colour balance - because light pollution
means that my sky looks red.

Don't consider myself much of a photographer, but the thing that sold me was
the 100 asa speed, the comparable Nikon wasn't offering it.
