Patriots Steelers

Neal,

Do you still want to bet on the New England/Pittsburg game?

I recall you offered to bet $50 on it.

Why don't we make it $100?

Obviously Neal recognizes the inevitable. In these patriotic
times, that the Patriots are more than they appear. The
Patriots represent every thing good in America.

They are humble and full of praise for their opponents.
Classy, quiet, and polite, they never get in trouble with the
law, unlike players on many other teams. The are genuinely
good people, and active contributors in the community.

Not one Patriot seeks personal glory or statistics. They
embody teamwork. Did you know that not one of them
wears their previous Superbowl rings. I can only guess
that this would set them apart from other players and
perhaps cause dissention. Last week ten different receivers
caught a pass. This is typical of the Patriots. They have
huge amounts of talent but don't get the glory of the
statistics.

The Patriots represent the fact that hard work and dedication
yield success. All this coupled with teamwork results in
wins. It is a lesson everyone should take to heart.

Finally, the Patriots represent good triumphing over all obstacles.
The Patriots are winners. They will beat the Steelers and go on
to win the Superbowl--again.

Why would I need a new refrigerator? I have a brand new 25 cu. ft. one with
filtered ice and water in the door. It was not a very good choice, I admit,
because I had to keep my 18 cu. ft. frig in the garage to keep the Rolling
Rocks, cokes and other beverages cold. (I hope Donal doesn't mind)

Scotty,

I'll let you off easy. How about $5--just to make
the game interesting? Or we could make it a beer.
I won't let you off for less than a beer.

I wish the Pats were playing the Jets at Foxboro for
the Conference Championships tomorrow. The
Jets had the Steelers beat and blew it, just like San
Diego did the week before. Can you believe it?
Two weeks in a row!

That game last week assured me the Patriots will
beat the Steelers.

If it were the Jets tomorrow, I'd have plenty of takers
on a small wager. Jet's fans out-number me here in
SW Connecticut. And, they bet with their hearts, so I
could clean up.

Right now we have a foot of snow and about 12 degrees
out. Tomorrow it drops to 2 degrees at night. The
weather looks very cold. Pittsburgh weather will be in the
20's. Lets see how Cheeseburger does with or without a
glove.

OK, Bart, $5 it is. It'll mean my lunch money for the week, but I

The Jets game made me VERY nervous! I think we'll be able to tell in

It's 14* f , wind chill -2*F. We got about 10''. I plowed about 6''
yesterday at 4PM, snowed 4'' through the night. Dang but it's cold
out.

BTW, I'll be in Manhattan tomorrow morn,

Ideally, this one will be won in the trenches. I give the Patriots the
edge because they have the long history of special teams, turnovers and
field goals making the difference in otherwise tight games. I don't
think either team will get blown out early tonight.

I'm going out soon, finish plowing and then watch the Eagles lose.
Wonder if Scout put a limit on how many cheesesteaks I can eat?

Where in the hell did I come up with that?
I meant to type:
Steelers 7 Eagles 6

If the Steelers don't wake up, it's not gonna matter!
But, I'd go with Tony Luke's, 3rd & Oregon Aves.

Jeff Morris January 24th 05 03:30 AM

Its gonna be tough for the Eagles. Last week the Pats held the best
offense in the league to 3 points. Tonight the scored 41 points against
the best defense. Its hard to see how any team can beat them.

Bart Senior January 24th 05 03:34 AM

You were right about that. The first play was an interception.

I wish I could get down to Manhattan and have a beer with
you. The Steelers were tough, but I knew the Patriots were
highly motivated to win. They always get their revenge when
a team beats them, and they are undefeated in the playoffs.

The Patriots proved yet again, they have the best defense in
the NFL.

By the way, the Patriots are opening as 6 point favorites against Phily.

OK, Bart, $5 it is. It'll mean my lunch money for the week, but I
love my Steelers.

The Jets game made me VERY nervous! I think we'll be able to tell in
the first 10 minutes who's going to win.

It's 14* f , wind chill -2*F. We got about 10''. I plowed about 6''
yesterday at 4PM, snowed 4'' through the night. Dang but it's cold
out.

BTW, I'll be in Manhattan tomorrow morn,
Scotty

Bart Senior January 24th 05 03:39 AM

Only 14 inches here. I'm worried about the wind.
Gusts over 40 mph. I hope my shrink wrap holds
together.

instead of the stuff we've been having the last 6 years or so...

Bart Senior January 24th 05 03:46 AM

Let see. Last week the Patriots held the highest rated
offense to 3 points--not one touchdown.

This week, the Patriots scored 41 points against the
top rated defense.

The truth is the Patriots are the toughest team in Pro
footballs. They have the best defense and the best
offense, measured by wins, points scored and
points against.

Bill Belicheck is the now tied with Vince Lombardi,
and in two weeks he will beat Lombardi's
record and become the best ever pro football coach.

Wrong again. It boils down to coaching. Cower is going to out-coach

Bellacheck(SP?).
His players are going to rough up the sissy Patriots. Sissy Brady will go

down in the
second quarter with a concussion. The Patriots just aren't tough enough.

Steelers 35, sissy Pats 17.

I have spoken.

Bart Senior January 24th 05 03:48 AM

Patriots 41 Steelers 27

Did you notice that late in the third quarter, the score was what I
predicted, Patriots 34, Steelers 20?

Not only did I pick the winner, I nearly guess the score perfectly.

"Scott Vernon" wrote

Seems like the REAL men are for the Steelers.

Bart hasn't replied yet, wonder if he's getting cold feet?
