You won't put your money where you mouth is.
Obviously, you don't believe in the Steelers--with good reason. "Capt. Neal®" wrote Wrong again. It boils down to coaching. Cower is going to out-coach Bellacheck(SP?). His players are going to rough up the sissy Patriots. Sissy Brady will go down in the second quarter with a concussion. The Patriots just aren't tough enough. Steelers 35, sissy Pats 17. I have spoken. CN |
Wrong about the Steelers, and wrong about the Eagles.

Jeff, I'm in a lottery for four Superbowl tickets. If I win, you are
invited. Bart "Jeff Morris" wrote Its gonna be tough for the Eagles. Last week the Pats held the best offense in the league to 3 points. Tonight the scored 41 points against the best defense. Its hard to see how any team can beat them. |
As I predicted before the game:
Ben Roethlisberger MVP for the Patriots! |

... You were right about that. The first play was an interception. Yup, kinda set the tone for the whole game. I was wondering if we'd see Tommy Maddox, but Cower isn't like that , remember how he stuck it out with Kordell, even when he stunk it up. Looked like we were coming back untill that TO, the one that was reviewed (with the 15yd penalty added on). Cheeseburger looked like a rookie and Brady was near perfect. I feel sorry for Bettis. I wish I could get down to Manhattan and have a beer with you. The Steelers were tough, but I knew the Patriots were highly motivated to win. They always get their revenge when a team beats them, and they are undefeated in the playoffs. The Patriots proved yet again, they have the best defense in the NFL. They did a good job shutting down the run. Pitts never was a good catch up team. By the way, the Patriots are opening as 6 point favorites against Phily. Go Pats ! Send me your mail addy and I'll pay up. Scotty "Scott Vernon" wrote OK, Bart, $5 it is. It'll mean my lunch money for the week, but I love my Steelers. The Jets game made me VERY nervous! I think we'll be able to tell in the first 10 minutes who's going to win. It's 14* f , wind chill -2*F. We got about 10''. I plowed about 6'' yesterday at 4PM, snowed 4'' through the night. Dang but it's cold out. BTW, I'll be in Manhattan tomorrow morn, Scotty |
My 'Terrible Towel' did double duty as a 'crying towel' last night.

This week, the Patriots scored 41 points against the top rated defense. As I tried to tell Scotty, the worst thing you can do is to beat a great NFL team that you have to play again in a more important game. The Steelers did NE and Philly a favor by ending their win streaks. The truth is the Patriots are the toughest team in Pro footballs. They have the best defense and the best offense, measured by wins, points scored and points against. Tough isn't measured by numbers. The Eagles did the smart thing and said "screw those stats, we're starting our second stringers for the remainder of the regular season, for the sake of the team's health and the ultimate goal of beating the least worst team in the AFC." Bill Belicheck is the now tied with Vince Lombardi, and in two weeks he will beat Lombardi's record and become the best ever pro football coach. Hurray for Bill Belicheck- the best NFL coach in New England! Bring it on baby! E-A-G-L-E-S! Scout |
not really.
I was rooting for the Steelers but I knew they'd lose. See my previous posts regarding the perils of beating a great nfl team early in the season. Ouch! 31 to 10 in the 3rd? After the burning of Atlanta, I sank into a deep post-orgasmic sleep long before the AFC game got that lopsided. I have a shot at some tickets to J-ville btw; my niece is an Eagles cheerleader and might remember her favorite uncle! Scout |
You just picked the wrong length of the game! Although the Steelers
kept fighting, it was clear at that point that their spirit was broken. Two plays later was the Wilson inception and all hope fizzled. Bart Senior wrote: Patriots 41 Steelers 27 Did you notice that late in the third quarter, the score was what I predicted, Patriots 34, Steelers 20? Not only did I pick the winner, I nearly guess the score perfectly. "Scott Vernon" wrote Seems like the REAL men are for the Steelers. Bart hasn't replied yet, wonder if he's getting cold feet? Scout I'm closer to J-ville than you are...I'll save you a parking place and have steaks on the grill when you get there for a ticket. I'll even buy your favorite beer for the pre-game tailgate party... (yes, this is an attempt at bribery) |

Scout,
Looks like food for SUPER BOWL is going to be NE Clam Chowder and Philly Cheesesteaks. Patriots knocked out the "Shoo-fly" pie. Might be able to cook up some "Scrapple" and Home Fried potatoes. Ole Thom |
Miami beat them and Miami is one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Steeler defense sucked yesterday. It's as if they all placed big bets that the Pats would win and win larger than the spread. I was wrong. Cower, most of the defense and RothLESSburger threw the
game because they had placed bets for New England to win. It's patently obvious. CN "Bart Senior" wrote in message ... You won't put your money where you mouth is.
