Default Winter Weather; Bellingham

A strange sight greeted me today. Pneuma is iced in, in her finger pier
slip.
The seconded time I've seen this happen in 35 years.

I hope you winterized the head and thru-hulls. Cracked pipes, heads and ruptured hoses can
sink your vessel. Get some antifreeze and pour it into the toilet and pump some of it into the
plumbing. Make sure the raw water in your motor has some antifreeze in it, too. When you
finish that project get a little antifreeze in the form of rum into your blood stream.

I don't have to worry about things freezing up in Florida but I do feel sorry for all you
lamers who live in unsuitable-for-sailing places that do freeze up.

Neal,

Thanks for the advice and you did hit on on thing I overlooked. The raw
water cooling exchanger! I do have heat on the boat and hope it was
enough. I usually hang a light bulb on it

The Temperature is going up. It will be at about freezing tonight but
may even get above by morning. We got a HUGE PINEAPPLE EXPRESS coming in
on us and it will be weeks before we'll see temperatures in the
thirties.

Ahoy Thom, last week it was in the 60's here, now it's in the 20's and
it snowed last night. Only an inch, but enough to cover everything
outside. Nothing to do but keep the fire stoked and snuggle.

the end of the week.

Yup, don't know why anybody would 'live' up there.

I've been in Texas in the Summer. You can have it.

Well, it's back to grey, drizzly, and 50ish degrees today. I sure froze
the last coupla weeks; but I did enjoy the sunshine.

Texas in the summer is great! I will take it anyday over dealing with
the yankee cold.

Katy is a cold maiden. They do cryogenic storage in her
bra. Even in the summer, her bedroom stays well below
freezing.

Mr. Sails suffers from year-round chronic frostbite.
