Oz, have you seen this beast? http://marine.bdg.com.au/images/spitfire/foiling5.jpg I wonder if anybody has made an amphibious sailer? Take one of these things and put foils on it. Imagine the thrill of sailing 30+ knots down the launch ramp and into the water! It's also interesting to see the radio control landsailers. Thanks for the link, Bart. DSK |

Thanks Doug,
I guess we should mention that those "Twin Sails" are high aspect sails While we are at it, we must mention those hydro-furls shoud have a round leading edges ( according to Neal) to increase speed (G) Ole Thom |

If you call those sails high aspect ratio then you have no clue.
http://ctr.stanford.edu/ResBriefs02/crook2.pdf http://www.jefraskin.com/forjef2/jef...ard_sails.html Keep in mind that the rig shown in the original post will always be close hauled as speed because of the apparent wind generated by the high speeds. A taller sail than shown that has a more rounded head will be more efficient than the ones shown. Guaranteed. CN "Thom Stewart" wrote in message ... Die Fledermaus Is a Famous Straus Waltz.
