They would go even faster if they hired somebody to
cut and sew a pair of sails that had a higher aspect
ratio and not such a flat top.

Flat top sails are very efficient, particiularly on faster boats.

Pathetic Earthlings! No one can save you now!

I'm convinced that Neal knows very little about sailing.

Do you have a clue what "aspect ratio" means?

I wonder if anybody has made an amphibious sailer? Take one of these
things and put foils on it. Imagine the thrill of sailing 30+ knots down
the launch ramp and into the water!

It's also interesting to see the radio control landsailers.

Thanks for the link, Bart.

Of course, a high aspect ratio sail is tall and narrow along the cord.

In other words the wings of a glider are high aspect ratio whike those
of a fighter jet are not.

Those sails on that tandem rig are not high aspect ratio sails.
If those idiots wanted to go five or six knots faster they would
get somebody who knew a little about sails to design them a
more efficient pair.
