Why is this so difficult for you to understand? Let me explain it to you even more simply. The light from the built in camera flash bounces off the retina back to the camera lens when a person looks at the camera. Happens every time - it's physics. If the person is not looking at the camera or if their pupil is constricted then the effect gets smaller but any light coming off the retina back into the camera is 'red eye'. Boy... see I knew you had a clue as to what causes red-eye.... now what measures would you take to negate this effect? Matter of fact how many degrees of angle are required to remove the possibility of red-eye? Would a deflector [ piece of white cardboard taped to deflect the 'built-in' flash] have any effect? How would you compensate for this? Professionals... Pah! I forgot more than either you or Bob ever knew about photography!!. CM |
