It is a port security app. When one controls port access, one
controls unauthorized access.

Pretty simple.

Gimme a break. A simple free software firewall like
Zone Alarm or Kerio which monitors all port activity
in and out protects you from your computer ever being
used for denial of service attacks. Besides, DOS attacks
are not initiated by an individual hacker hacking into
one computer after another. It takes more than a handful
of computer to mount a DOS attack.

Crap... that's done daily. The hard drives are remote. All you will find is
a curtain of programs designed to accommodate your intrusion.... running
back-trak software.

Please do try.... do you require me to provide you with a static IP
address?

Heh... you can sit and critique till the cows come home Cappy.... I
don't give a ****.

What I have works to do the job I require... and insist on.

I use the internet... and I use it my way.... it's not your way... so
what. Get over it!

I can understand your request to know why.... I gave you an answer. I am
certainly not obligated to give you a detailed reason.

You know... I get similar comments regarding my level of personal security
from my friends... I really have a chuckle when It's from one of them
with a criminal record or victim of a theft.

Look... I appreciate your efforts to reassure me that the world is a
kinder & gentler place... that with minimal effort and Dubbya we are all
safe. You're wasting oxygen!

Understand this... I hold myself responsible for my safety.... and I'll
take the measures I deem appropriate to enforce that.

I hope that explains it for you.... and don't friggin' refer to me in
any way being like Gaynzy! Okay!

Why be so paranoid. Got something to hide?

Security programs have rules and you can make
rules to allow actions or deny actions. I don't think
you have anything to fear from MSM and Google.

You sound like Gaynz. You need to ask yourself,
"Am I important enough for some hacker to want to
get into my system?" Probably not.

Real men use the Internet; they don't cower in fear.

I have to negotiate prompts from the other 2 each time I log on. I tried

don't care for that form of communication very much.

I don't use Wi-Fi .... I even register my products by snail mail.

I've never been much for this instant messaging stuff. If I want to talk
to
someone that badly I'll call'em on the phone. Believe me... I've been
pressured by friends/family to sign on.... it'll never happen.

Paranoid??? Maybe..... but I have never had a virus, Trojan or worm. I
