Okay Bob... that was a reactionary comment on my part....
My experience with sat phones is from their inception to current day. I have used many sat phone communications. I have arranged for sat phone video uplink to NYC investors on a rather viable source in the Arctic. Most of my company vehicles have had Sat Phone and GPS technology installed years before you were ever aware it could be done. The only other person on this group with similar experience would be Peter Wiley. It is a prohibitive expense to date... utilized by government agencies and businesses that require it's range for remote operation. Vessels crossing oceans generally lease the equipment and service. It is not a replacement for cellular service..... not yet. CM "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... You frickin idiot... you have cell phone coverage that is ten times as reliable as a Sat Phone!!! How stupid are you Bob? Wrong, wrong, wrong. The Sat phone ALWAYS works here. ALWAYS. The cell does not. I like your dumb comments that are clearly based on zero experience with the technology. I've actually had a Sat phone. Have you? RB |
