"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Sat Phone!!.... Coastal!!!... Bwahahahahahahahahahaaaaa Do you have a clue as to how ridiculous that is! Nope. It costs very little and is only to be used in an emergency. Since and expensive system is on board, why not keep it operational? Cell phones don't always work and being able to make a call in a medical emergency seems like a good thing. Obviously you haven't thought this comment through very well....... otherwise you'd be as privy to it's ridiculous pretense as anyone here with experience in Sat Phone Technology and it's associated costs. Tell us Bob... what Sat Phone provider are you going to register with? No .... please Telus! CM |

wrote ... What about his famous 'sail to nowhere'? I remember him bragging about that even before he did it. When *did* he do that, anyway? I'm not sure if I did or I didn't. Wha? Your trip reports could easily be fiction. No, I have witnesses. Then again, since you wrote them, there is a problem. You probably don't have the imagination necessary to fake one. "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... A Sat Phone???? What the heck ?? Do you know how much a month it costs to have a Sat Phone Activated ...... let's not even calc the rate per call! I'll have a small child on board. To keep the phone in standby is 90.00 per month. I'll take that extra little safety net, thank you. You frickin idiot... you have cell phone coverage that is ten times as reliable as a Sat Phone!!! How stupid are you Bob? CM |

"Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... "John Cairns" wrote Probably because Bob hasn't done any blue-water sailing in the Atlantic, even though he's had ample opportunity to do so over the years, by his own reckoning. What about his famous 'sail to nowhere'? I remember him bragging about that even before he did it. When *did* he do that, anyway? Scotty Don't really know much about Bob's sailing "history". I do recall him bragging about not being a "9 to 5'er" on more than one occasion. My thoughts have always been, if you have the time and are in a geographic location to do a blue-water cruise, why not? I guess Joe hasn't been here long enough to remember those posts. I suspect that Bobs done a lot less sailing than he claimed he would. John Cairns |

My

So, John, are we to understand that you agree with Joe's post about no boat under 200 feet ever needing a bow thruster? Or do you agree with me that in some cases it's needed based on the vessel and docking situation? RB |

You frickin idiot... you have cell phone coverage that is ten times as
reliable as a Sat Phone!!! How stupid are you Bob? Wrong, wrong, wrong. The Sat phone ALWAYS works here. ALWAYS. The cell does not. I like your dumb comments that are clearly based on zero experience with the technology. I've actually had a Sat phone. Have you? RB |
